We are seeing more butterflies during these late summer days. Here's a swallowtail.

The monarch population seems sparse this year, but I caught a photo of this one on the swamp milkweed. So incredibly beautiful...

Orchid Reblooming

I've had orchids over the years, but have never gotten one to rebloom until now! It's gorgeous...

David's Sweater

We are looking forward to meeting our new nephew, David, today. I made him a sweater:The pattern is Lilli's Little Sweater from Cottage Creations. Very easy!

First tomato

The first tomato (heirloom, grown from seed by me) is nearly ready! We take our tomatoes very seriously in this house; we check on this one several times a day to see if it's ready yet. When it is, we will celebrate with BLT's made with Breadsmith honey wheat bread, apple-smoked bacon, and lettuce from our garden. Only a few days left...
